Today we welcomed Fiona Payne the senior education and engagement officer for Westminster Parliament to talk to P5-7 about democracy and citizenship. She shared lots of pertinent information about the role of government and how life can be better when we have a right to exercise our democratic vote. She also discussed if we have issues relating to our village that we can contact our local councillors, MLA’s and MP’s to try to ensure our community can be the best it possibly can.
Thank you Fiona for being so insightful.

Flahavans Cross-Country Round 3
Our cross-country teams did us proud today as they ran in cold and damp conditions to cross the very muddy finish line! Each and every one of them displayed great resilience and determination as they ran the course at Tollymore.
And a huge congratulations must go to the Glasswater girl who came home with a medal, finishing 3rd in the girls’ race. Amazing running!

We are delighted to be able to offer a range of after school clubs this year thanks to the support of our wonderful parents. Today we started a Farming Club with Richard and Sharon Glover Orr from AMFarming. We made tepees to support the beans and peas which we planted, as well as planting some other vegetables to take home. We popped some fertilised eggs in the incubator and hope to see some little chicks in a few weeks time. What an incredible afternoon!
We Really Shine: December
Mr Milligan was delighted to present these wonderful pupils with their We Really Shine awards in assembly today. Congratulations boys and girls. We are proud of you all!

This afternoon the Glasswater family-pupils, staff, family members and friends-joined together to remind ourselves of why we celebrate Christmas. The pupils read beautifully, sang joyously and played the bells and recorders wonderfully well. Lissara Presbyterian Church was filled with music, smiles and full hearts!
Well done boys and girls on providing a Christmas treat for us all to enjoy!

Yesterday the boys and girls were awarded certificates for all their hard work and effort with our online reading and Numeracy programs. These pupils have excelled in Reading Eggs and Accelerated Reader this term to support their learning in Literacy; and Mathletics and Maths Seeds to practise their Numeracy skills. Well done to each and every one of you!

Our choir enjoyed visiting the lovely folk at Lissara PW this morning. They spread much seasonal cheer as they sang an array of Christmas songs and read poems-as well as some pupils performing some carols on the piano and bells.
Thank you for inviting us along, for very warm welcome and treats to enjoy afterwards. Merry Christmas to all at Lissara Presbyterian Church.
