A huge thank you to Richard and Sharon Glover-Orr for a wonderful farming club. From planting seeds, seeing a chick hatched just a couple of hours before, quizzes, movies, bird feeders, sitting in the tractor and much more. Thank you for sharing your passion with so many amazing activities.
Today we welcomed Fiona Payne the senior education and engagement officer for Westminster Parliament to talk to P5-7 about democracy and citizenship. She shared lots of pertinent information about the role of government and how life can be better when we have a right to exercise our democratic vote. She also discussed if we have issues relating to our village that we can contact our local councillors, MLA’s and MP’s to try to ensure our community can be the best it possibly can.
Thank you Fiona for being so insightful.

Flahavans Cross-Country Round 3
Our cross-country teams did us proud today as they ran in cold and damp conditions to cross the very muddy finish line! Each and every one of them displayed great resilience and determination as they ran the course at Tollymore.
And a huge congratulations must go to the Glasswater girl who came home with a medal, finishing 3rd in the girls’ race. Amazing running!

P5-7 have enjoyed participating in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch. They enjoyed getting outside and counting the different native species of birds in our school garden.

The budding scientists at Glasswater were delighted to welcome Chris back today. The boys and girls were curious and excited to discover what would happen as they mixed chemicals to make a reaction!

We are delighted to be able to offer a range of after school clubs this year thanks to the support of our wonderful parents. Today we started a Farming Club with Richard and Sharon Glover Orr from AMFarming. We made tepees to support the beans and peas which we planted, as well as planting some other vegetables to take home. We popped some fertilised eggs in the incubator and hope to see some little chicks in a few weeks time. What an incredible afternoon!
We Really Shine: December
