Our Key Stage 2 pupils enjoyed lots of interactive activities at the Nursing Matters workshops facilitated by the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queens University. They learnt lots about their bodies, how to administer CPR, the importance of good hygiene and handwashing, as well as thinking about possible pathways of nursing as a career! A great morning for all! Thanks to Elizabeth for bringing this super opportunity to Glasswater alongside a wonderful team of nurses.

Another amazing day at LEGO club. Today we designed mazes and created a model with the theme ‘sky’. Thanks again to Joanne, Rachel and Grace for such a creative, fun club.
Congratulations to our Gold and Diamond winners in Mathletics. These pupils have been busy completing Mathletics each week to practise the Numeracy skills they’ve been working on in class. Keep up the good work!
A fantastic first day at Key Stage 2 LEGO club. We had a tower building competition and created seaside models. Thanks to Joanne, Rachel and Grace for facilitating the club.
Today we welcomed Sarah Shields and Stephen English from Mutual Energy and GMO (Gas Market Operator) to talk to our P5-7 pupils about energy. They discussed sources of energy from the past, presentday energy sources and future energy insights and ways we can conserve and use energy more wisely to be better for the planet.

A huge thank you to Richard and Sharon Glover-Orr for a wonderful farming club. From planting seeds, seeing a chick hatched just a couple of hours before, quizzes, movies, bird feeders, sitting in the tractor and much more. Thank you for sharing your passion with so many amazing activities.
Today we welcomed Fiona Payne the senior education and engagement officer for Westminster Parliament to talk to P5-7 about democracy and citizenship. She shared lots of pertinent information about the role of government and how life can be better when we have a right to exercise our democratic vote. She also discussed if we have issues relating to our village that we can contact our local councillors, MLA’s and MP’s to try to ensure our community can be the best it possibly can.
Thank you Fiona for being so insightful.

Flahavans Cross-Country Round 3
Our cross-country teams did us proud today as they ran in cold and damp conditions to cross the very muddy finish line! Each and every one of them displayed great resilience and determination as they ran the course at Tollymore.
And a huge congratulations must go to the Glasswater girl who came home with a medal, finishing 3rd in the girls’ race. Amazing running!
